It was time.
We got our work done on the house.
We had some time left over from Spring Break.
And it has been a shamefully long time (5 kids ago).
It was time to go see Grandma Elaine and introduce her to her new great- grandchildren.
It just happened to (almost) coincide with her birthday. The kids drew pictures and wrote notes. Jonas even crocheted her a flower.
She loved it and he was very pleased.
She was introduced to each of the children and each gave her a hug. It was one of those times that bells ring down the corridors of time. Even the kids who had never met her felt a familiarity that was unexplainable.
Grandma Elaine hardly let go of Keith's hand the whole time we were there.
Uncle Paul and Aunt Margaret were so kind and such gracious hosts. They prepared a meal of chili dogs, chips and jello (they must have fed a kid or two before).
And of course, birthday cake!
They even played Easter Bunny and gave each of the kids a chocolate egg.
We love you, Grandma Elaine.
