Travelling

We left (after several test runs) thursday afternoon at 12:30.  Arrived in Bountiful at 4:00 am Friday morning.  After attempted rescue of Grandma J's computer and a not-so-quick shopping trip (for Ryah's birthday), we left for Mesquite at 5:00 pm.  Spent the night in Mesquite, saw Grandma Elaine for a couple of hours Saturday morning.  Back to Bountiful, Saturday night.  Then Sunday late morning saw us making the 15 hour trip home.  We arrived home, tired and crumpled at 2:00 Monday morning.
Can you can imagine: eight kids, travelling for four days straight, sleeping in a different bed each night?
Me either.  Sounds like a recipe for the perfect storm (of fits).  But all the kids did amazingly well.

The scenery was amazing!

Ya think we all are from Western Washington?!?!  Boy doesn't even think twice about wearing rainboots to the desert.

Ryah was the one that I was the most worried about.  But she did incredible, with only one major fit, and even then she calmed down really quickly and fell asleep.
Alina and Anastasia had the hardest time with being cooped up in the car and nearly drove everyone else nuts a couple of times.
Every time we stopped I would have them all run to burn off some energy.  And we stopped at nearly every temple between here and Las Vegas... ok not nearly all, but a lot of them. (See our new blog http://allradsleadtothetemple.blogspot.com/ in which we have pictures of all the temples we visited-- and will visit)
All in all, though it wouldn't be wise to make another anytime soon, it was a good experience.  Especially since we got to see Grandma Elaine.  That makes the whole trip worthwhile.
